Parents have been raving about the impact equine therapy has on their child.

Central Islip, NY - May 8, 2016 - EAC Network is thrilled to announce a renewed partnership with Pal-O-mine Equestrian in Islandia to provide child victims of abuse or neglect with up to eight weeks of equine therapy.

Thanks to grant-based funding, fourteen children from EAC Network’s Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) are taking advantage of Pal-O-Mine Equestrian’s eight acres of land, eighteen therapy horses, and other trained barn animals.

Pal-O-Mine Equestrian provides year-round therapy services, enabling growth and healing through equine activities for children and adults who have experienced abuse or neglect, as well as those with disabilities and economic challenges. After one session at Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, EAC Network received phone calls from parents raving about the impact equine therapy had on their child.

“EAC Network’s Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center is incredibly fortunate and grateful to collaborate with Pal-O-Mine Equestrian,” said EAC Network’s Division Director of Children’s Services, Andrea Ramos-Topper.

The CAC is a facility for child victims of physical and sexual abuse that provides a neutral environment where abuse allegations may be pursued in ways that support and protect children and non-offending family members. In addition to hosting public education forums, providing referrals, and accompanying children at medical examinations and court, the CAC facilitates a peer support group for child victims and parents called the Kids 2 Kids program.

If you know of a child facing abuse, neglect, sexual exploitation, or human trafficking, please call the CAC at (631) 439-0480.
