NCPD Crime Alert: West Hempstead Chase Bank Robbed

West Hempstead, NY - May 6th, 2014 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Monday, May 05, 2014 at 1:38 p.m. in West Hempstead.

According to detectives, a male black subject in his 30’s, 5’10’-6’ tall, medium-stocky build, wearing a Rastafarian style hat, a wig, and eye glasses entered the Chase Bank located at 565 Hempstead Turnpike and presented a demand note to a teller.  The subject fled on foot with an unknown amount of U.S. currency eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike. There were nine employees and 11 customers present during the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
