Man Wanted for Stealing $4k Worth of Fit Bits & Merch from Lake Grove Store

Lake Grove, NY - May 4th, 2015 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who stole merchandise from a store in Lake Grove.
 
A man removed a lamp from a lamp box at Bed Bath and Beyond located at 2045 Smith Haven Plaza on April 12, 2015 at approximately 1:35 p.m. and placed 38 Fitbit fitness trackers inside the box. The man took the box to the cash register and paid cash for the lamp that was supposed to be inside. He then left the store without paying for the Fitbits which were valued at approximately $4,000.
 
The man is described as black, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, in his late 30s to early 40s.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
