Huntington, NY - May 2, 2018 - On Saturday, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D – Long Island, Queens) announced the winners of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition for New York's 3rd Congressional District. The event took place at the Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills. Student participants, their parents, teachers, and school administrators were all in attendance at the open event. Thirty-nine students from sixteen schools across the district entered the competition.

"Artists play an important role in society, and it turns out we have some pretty talented young artists right here in our district" said Congressman Suozzi. "All of the parents and teachers should take pride in themselves for supporting the artists in their lives," he added.

Krystal Fabbricante, from Northport and a student at Northport High School, was awarded an honorable mention for her digital photograph, “In the Garden”. She described her work as “a picture of my sister taken during a beautiful fall afternoon at Caumsett State Historic Park. I have always enjoyed photographing dresses and capturing beautiful compositions with the fabric.” Her work will be displayed in Congressman Suozzi’s office in Washington, D.C.
