Medford, NY - May 2, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a 9-year-old boy crashed a dirt bike into a tree in Medford on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
 
Jacob Pfeiffer crashed a dirt bike into a tree in the backyard of his residence at approximately 5:40 p.m. His father, Richard Pfeiffer, 49, was supervising him while following him on another dirt bike. Jacob was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Police helicopter for treatment of reported serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet and other safety equipment at the time of the incident.
 
The investigation is continuing.
