Suspects Hid in Restaurant Ladies' Room Until Closing Time, Then Robbed Employees, Cops Say

Franklin Square, NY - May 1, 2018 - Fifth Squad detectives report the arrests of three individuals for a robbery that occurred on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:13 pm in Franklin Square.
 
According to detectives, Chaz Shelley, 21, of St. Albans, Queens and Ruysdael Euzebe, 29, of Franklin Square, hid in the ladies room of Wendy’s, 1034 Hempstead Turnpike, until the store closed for regular business. Once the dining room doors were locked, Shelley and Euzebe exited the bathroom wearing ski masks, approached the remaining employees while displaying handguns and demanded money from the register. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, both fled the store from a rear door.
 
A subsequent investigation by detectives was conducted and on Sunday, April 22, at 9:49 pm, Shelley was located in Hempstead and placed under arrest.
 
On Wednesday, April 25 at 4:22 pm, Aaron Salomon, 22, of Elmont, was arrested at his home after detectives obtained information that Saloman was responsible for driving Shelley and Euzebe to and from the robbery.
 
On Monday, April 30, at 3:50 pm, Euzebe was arrested at his home without incident.
 
All three defendants are charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
 
First District Court, Hempstead arraignments are as follows:
 
  • Shelley – 4/24/2018
  • Salomon – 4/26/2018
  • Euzebe – 5/1/2018
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
