Suspect Sought by Cops in Connection with East Patchogue, Yaphank and Holbrook Armed Robberies

UPDATE - April 30, 2018 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Bellport man for robbing five businesses since February. Marchell Rountree, 50, was charged with five counts of Robbery 1st Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Suffolk County, NY - April 30, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating five commercial robberies that occurred in East Patchogue, Yaphank and Holbrook since February.
 
A man entered five businesses between February 17 and April 28, displayed a handgun and fled with cash. The suspect was described as black and approximately 6 feet tall. He was wearing a surgical type mask during the robberies.
 
The robberies occurred at the following businesses:
 
  • 7-Eleven, located at 139 Sunrise Highway, East Patchogue, on February 17 at approximately 11:45 p.m.
  • Speedway, located at 80 Horseblock Road, Yaphank, on February 25 at approximately 8:15 p.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 139 Sunrise Highway, East Patchogue, on April 21 at approximately 3:20 a.m.
  • Valero, located at 151 Hospital Road, East Patchogue, on April 24 at approximately 1:55 a.m.
  • 7-Eleven, located at 796 Broadway Ave., Holbrook, on April 28 at approximately 2 a.m.
