Merrick Man Busted in NCPD & FBI Child Porn Sting

Merrick, NY - April 30th, 2015 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Merrick man for disseminating indecent material to a minor which was reported on Tuesday, 11/18/14.

According to detectives, between 10/01/13 and 12/01/13, Nicholas Caruso, 21, of Old Mill Road, posed as a 15-year-old male so that he could communicate over the internet with an 11-year-old female, who resides in Arizona, performing sexual acts.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant’s computer contained child pornography files, created by the defendant, of himself performing sexual acts while children between the ages of 5 and 11 years observed him via the webcam on a chat site.

Major Case Bureau detectives along with the FBI Long Island Child Exploitation Task Force arrested Caruso at his home on Wednesday, 04/29/15.

He is being charged with five counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minor 1st Degree, three counts of Possession Sexual Performance by a Child and will be arraigned on Thursday, 04/30/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
