SCPD: Port Jefferson Doctor Arrested for Forcibly Touching Patient

Port Jefferson, NY - April 29, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a neurologist for forcibly touching a patient in Port Jefferson earlier this year.

Dr. Jacob Mathew was arrested at his office, located at 100 Oakland Ave., Port Jefferson for inappropriately touching a female patient during a treatment visit in February.

Mathew, 58, was charged with Forcible Touching. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

The name of the patient will remain confidential.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
