Teen Pedestrian in Stable Condition After Lawrence Crash

Lawrence, NY - April 29th, 2015 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an auto accident, in which a pedestrian was struck, that occurred in Lawrence on Tuesday, 04/28/15 at 9:15 P.M.
 
According to detectives, a male victim, 19, while crossing Rockaway Tpke./Route 878, was struck by a 2011 Kia sedan, operated by a male driver, 55.
 
Nassau County Police Ambulance transported the victim, who suffered head trauma and leg fractures, to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The driver and his passenger were not injured.
 
Detectives report no apparent criminality.  A breathalyzer test performed on the driver yielded negative results.  A brake and safety inspection of the vehicle revealed adequate results.
