Smithtown, NY - April 27, 2015 - The Fort Salonga Civic Association (FSA) held its annual Spring Brunch at the Indian Hills Country Club and featured Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta and Smithtown Historian as guest speakers. Many Fort Salonga based businesses graciously provided raffle prizes and donations such as IGA Fort Salonga/East Northport Market, Fort Salonga Wines, Grace Music School, Bob’s Canoe Rentals, and many more.

Legislator Trotta gave a brief overview of some of the issues he has been working on to assist the residents of Fort Salonga and urged residents to contact him if they have any problems. As a retired Suffolk County Police Detective, he is concerned about the safety and welfare of the citizens, as well as the traffic/roadway concerns of the residents.

Brad Harris gave a historical perspective of Fort Salonga and addressed the upcoming events to celebrate the 350 Anniversary of the Town of Smithtown. He informed those attending that there will be a reenactment of the Battle of Fort Slongo on October 10, which will be organized by the Fort Salonga Civic Association.
