Suffolk County Police arrested a Rocky Point man for placing a video recording device in the employee bathroom of a Ronkonkoma business earlier this year.

A female employee of Trinity Solar, located at 2180 5th Ave #1, discovered a device plugged into the electrical outlet in the women’s bathroom. The device appeared to be a cell phone charger. Upon further inspection, other employees realized it was a recording device.

Following an investigation, Fifth Squad detectives determined the device was placed in the bathroom by Michael Evans, who was employed at the business at the time. A Search Warrant was executed at Evans' home, where he was arrested.

Evans recorded the victims between March 7 and March 14. Evans left the company on April 1.

Evans, 32, was charged with 12 counts of Unlawful Surveillance 2nd Degree. He will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
