4 Handsome Fellas Make Up This Week's Adorable Adoptables

For readers who missed Rufus' amazing story, here it is once again, and fyi- this sweet pea is thriving and couldn't be more ready to find his forever home.
Rufus comes to New York from North Carolina, where he was found lost in the woods in awful shape. Rufus was fixed-up and rescued by an amazing New York based organization known as Rescue Dogs Rock. All seemed on the up-and-up for Rufus until he wound up in the care of a not-so-nice trainer ultimately accused of animal cruelty.
Thankfully, early last year little Rufus found his way into a wonderful foster home where he continues to receive the love and proper training he so desperately deserves. This foster care has turned Rufus into the most lovable, laid back sidekick a human could ask for.
In an effort to get this little boy into tip-top shape, Rufus required 4 surgeries to repair his ACL. He is recovering beautifully, and while he continues his physical therapy, he will need to ease into long walks and certain extraneous physical activity.
Rufus is about 3-4 years old and is a tiny guy, weight about 30-40 pounds. If adopted, Rufus needs slow introductions to other dogs and he does seem a little uneasy around cats. As per his current foster, favorite activities include having fun with squeaky toys and "cuddling up at the end of a bed with his cute little butt wiggling when you come home". I mean come on, who needs more than that?

Head over to Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter to meet a real Prince...Prince. Prince was surrendered to the shelter by his owners because they were moving and couldn't take him along. Prince is a big, sweet boy who already knows the commands "sit", "come" and "paw". Prince has a lot of friends at the shelter and the staff has only fabulous things to say about him: He is an excellent walker, one of the best loose leash walkers around. Prince is attentive and friendly with everyone, smart, responsive and always looking to love. Next door at Last Hope Animal Rescue, come meet Romeo. This friendly 3 years old was rescued from the Pilgrim State Hospital property and is now ready for a real home. Romeo is adorable with his round face, the full coat of an American Shorthair with an exquisite tabby pattern, fabulous green eyes, somewhat stubby legs and an outgoing purrsonality. Smart and Gentle- come meet Max! Max came to Last Hope with credentials from Jessamine County Shelter in Kentucky. He is a smart, friendly10 month old Lab/Hound who spent 8 weeks in foster care in KY right before coming to Last Hope. His foster Dad Stephen sent a 2 page letter explaining how MAX blossomed during his stay and learned a lot about dog manners & commands. MAX walks well on a leash, loves everyone including kids and other dogs, and even learned commands and completed a basic obedience course with Stephen.
