22nd Annual Global Pet Adoption Event Kicks Off 36 Hours of Saving Lives, April 30 through May 1

Port Washington, NY - April 26, 2016 - North Shore Animal League America will open its doors on Saturday, April 30th for Pet Adoptathon® 2016 – sponsored by Purina®. Adopters will have access to over 700 puppies, kittens, dogs and cats to choose from and the first 100 adoptions on Saturday, April 30th are FREE!

Actress, adopter and Animal League America supporter, Edie Falco and her rescue dog Niko, will participate in the opening ceremonies beginning at 8:30 am, after which she will cut the ribbon to officially begin Pet Adoptathon 2016.

Throughout the weekend, there will be amazing performances by the Purina® Incredible Dog Team. There will be plenty of fun filled family activities including face painting, arts and crafts, balloon sculptures, and Mr. Met will be making a special appearance to help adopt out all of our animals.

Over 2,000 animal shelters and rescue groups around the world will join the Animal League America for this premiere global pet adoption event, sponsored by Purina®, to help save the lives of homeless pets. Come down and find your next best friend!

When: Kick-Off ceremonies at 8:30 am followed by Ribbon Cutting to officially begin the festivities
