Copiague Teen Hid Recording Device in Female Tenant's Bathroom, Cops Say

Copiague, NY - April 26, 2018 - Suffolk County Police First Precinct Crime Section Officers last night arrested a 16-year-old male who placed a recording device in the apartment of his father’s tenant.
 
Between April 6th and April 7th, a 16-year-old male entered the Copiague apartment of a 25-year-old woman and placed a recording device in her bathroom. The woman found the device and turned it over to the Suffolk County Police Department. After a thorough investigation by the First Precinct Crime Section, officers arrested the 16-year-old at his Copiague residence at approximately 10 p.m. 
 
The 16 year old was arrested and charged with Attempted Eavesdropping and Possession of an Eavesdropping Device. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a later date.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
