Homicide Trial Opens Today For Man Charged In 2013 Shooting During Flanders Burglary

Riverhead, NY - April 25, 2017 - The homicide trial of a 32 year old Mastic Beach man who allegedly shot a Flanders man during a 2013 home invasion starts today (4/25) in Riverhead, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
 
Messiah Booker allegedly shot Demetri Hampton, 21, to death during a burglary of the victim’s home on Priscilla Avenue on January 27, 2013.
 
Booker is charged with murder in the second degree and burglary in the first degree, as are his codefendants Michael Parrish of Coram, Danielle Hall of Calverton and Corry Wallace of Riverhead.
 
State Supreme Court Justice John Collins (third floor of the courthouse) will preside at trial which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
