Hicksville, NY - April 25th, 2013 - Long Island Cruizin’ For A Cure is getting a tremendous response to its call for car exhibitors for its Sunday, September 8th Annual Long Island Cruizin’ For A Cure Car Show.  The annual car show is one of the largest and most popular in the region and the only east coast car show that promotes Prostate Cancer awareness. Sponsors, such as Allstate, have identified the mission of the not-for-profit car show as a worthy cause and are once again supporting the event that will return to the Sears Auto Center parking lot in Hicksville. The show is expected to draw a record 600 cars and 3,500 attendees.

Te large number of car exhibitors expected this September demonstrates the growing support Long Island Cruizin’ For A Cure has experienced over the last eight years. Proceeds from the car show support free PSA screening test programs at the annual show and at other locations, as well as Prostate Cancer research programs. In 2012 alone, $20,000 was donated to the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for scientific research. The amazing show is organized and run by unpaid volunteers, many of whom are Prostate Cancer survivors who encourage early detection of the disease.

"This car show is all about cars and cancer. We like to keep our old cars forever and we want to help men live longer so they can enjoy those old cars. Prostate Cancer is a dreadful disease and early detection is what we encourage. The cars exhibited at the show serve as a backdrop for our mission to raise funds for Prostate Cancer education, awareness and vital research. Without cars, generous sponsors and the dedicated volunteers, who unselfishly give their time and talents without remuneration of any sort, we would not be able to fulfill our mission," said Sandy Kane, Founder and Chair of the Long Island Cruizin’ For A Cure Car Show.

In addition to the hundreds of cars, trucks and other vehicles, the car show will have music, food and a variety of vendors and sponsor booths. The popular Kids Fun Zone and Doo Wop entertainment are returning in September, with other family-friendly activities in the works that promise to make the 2013 show even larger and better than ever.
