State Police Investigating Fatal Northern State Parkway Motorcycle Collision
The New York State Police are investigating a motorcycle collision which occurred at approximately 8:44 p.m. on the Northern State Parkway east of exit 26N, Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle traveling eastbound in the left lane, lost control and struck the center median. The impact caused the ejection of both riders.
Passenger Carina J. Castro Perez, age 25, of Westbury, NY was taken to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where she succumbed to her injuries. Operator Jose U. Diaz Cruz, age 26, of Westbury, NY was taken to the same location and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Currently, there are no criminal charges.
