Amityville Woman Arrested for Driving with 26 License Suspensions, Officials Report

North Amityville, NY - April 24, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a woman for driving with a suspended driver’s license after stopping her for traffic violations in North Amityville on Tuesday, April 23, 2018.
 
Jahnay Harley was operating a 2016 Mercedes-Benz on westbound on Schleigel Avenue and failed to stop at multiple stop signs. First Precinct Patrol officers initiated a traffic stop. A check on Harley’s driver's license showed it had been suspended 26 times. As she was being placed under arrest, Harley became combative and spit at the officers.
 
Officers arrested Harley, 26, of Amityville, and charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, an E Felony, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and Harassment.
 
Harley was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, on April 24. 
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
