Central Islip, NY - April 24, 2017 - A 31 year old Central Islip man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court on Sunday, April 23, after his arrest early Saturday morning, April 22, on heroin and weapons possession charges, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.

Suffolk County police arrested Eddickson Mulliz at approximately 4:30 am Saturday. District Attorney Spota said the execution of search warrants led to the discovery of 200 packets of heroin packaged for street sale found in the defendant’s car, and the recovery of a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun from his apartment.

“The defendant is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree with intent to sell, one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree for having more than four ounces of heroin, and criminal possession of a weapon charges. The heroin was found under the hood of his 2016 Toyota, stashed in the air cleaner,” District Attorney Spota said.

Judge Jennifer Henry set cash bail for Mulliz at $150,000 or $300,000 bond.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
