NCPD Investigating Wantagh Auto Accident Resulting in Death of Pedestrian
The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Auto Accident Involving a Pedestrian that occurred on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:57 p.m. in Wantagh.
According to detectives, while attempting to cross south to north on Sunrise Highway, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet, which was traveling westbound. The victim, identified as Holario Perez, 60, of Bellmore, suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21 year old male, remained at the scene. A brake test was administered which revealed the vehicle had adequate braking ability. The investigation is ongoing.
