Two Caught Red-Handed During East Meadow Drug Deal, NCPD Reports

East Meadow, NY - April 19, 2018 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of two East Meadow men for a narcotics related incident that occurred in East Meadow on April 16, 2018 at 5:20 P.M.
 
According to COPE (Community Oriented Police Enforcement) Officers, defendant James Capolino, 38, of East Meadow was observed by two officers driving a 2006 Toyota Camry in the vicinity of Rugby Street and McKinley Avenue. The Officers observed Capolino pull up next to a Ford Mustang and make a hand to hand drug transaction with the Mustang’s driver, defendant Dominick Cestaro, 18. 
 
Defendant Cestaro was arrested at scene without incident. Defendant Capolino fled the area in his auto and was later apprehended at his residence. 
 
An investigation was conducted and recovered from defendant Capolino’s residence was 52 grams of cocaine, 500 milligrams of crack/cocaine, 460 pills of alprazolam, a “Billy Club” in addition to an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
Defendant Cestaro is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.
 
Defendant Capolino is charged with several counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Criminal sale of a Controlled Substance, Obstructing Governmental administration, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
 
Cestaro and Capolino were  arraigned on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
   
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
