Copiague Man Seriously Injured in North Amityville Crash

North Amityville, NY - April 16th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a man in North Amityville this morning.

William Brelsford was driving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe, making a left out of Cassata Drive to go northbound on New Highway, when his vehicle was struck by a southbound 2007 GMC Acadia, driven by Deborah Jones, at 5:57 a.m.

Jones, 38, of 43rd Street, Copiague, and her 5-year-old daughter were transported to Good Samarian Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries. Brelsford, 57, of Cassata Drive, Copiague, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
