Police Seeking Suspect Who Robbed Elderly Merrick Woman at Knifepoint

The victim was approached by a male subject who displayed a knife and demanded her pocketbook, cops say.

April 17, 2019 - First Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 1:28 am in Merrick.
 
According to detectives, after arriving home at her Petit Avenue residence from a night out with friends, the 65 year old female victim, after realizing she left her pocketbook in her car, went back outside to retrieve it and was unexpectedly approached by a male subject who displayed a knife and demanded her pocketbook. After obtaining her property the subject then fled on foot and was last seen running eastbound on Horatio Avenue. 
 
The uninjured victim further described the subject as being a dark skinned male, possibly Hispanic, 5’9” tall and 165 pounds (See Composite Sketch).
