Shirley Bank Robbery Has Suffolk County Police Detectives Investigating

Shirley, NY - April 13, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Shirley bank today.  

A man entered Empire National Bank, located at 1044 William Floyd Parkway, at approximately 11 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money and stating he had a gun. The teller complied with the man’s demands and the suspect fled the bank on foot.

The suspect was described as white, between 45 and 55 years old with a medium build and was wearing dark clothing.

Detectives believe this suspect is the same man who robbed HSBC Bank, located at 1718 Montauk Highway in Mastic, on April 9.

The investigation into these two incidents is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
