NCPD: Glen Oaks Man Arrested After Attempting to Rob Uniondale Long Island Marriott

Uniondale, NY - April 13, 2018 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of Sunil Joseph, 40, of Glen Oaks in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 3:50 am in Uniondale.
 
According to detectives, Sunil Joseph walked into the lobby area of the Long Island Marriott, 101 James Doolittle Boulevard, approached the front desk clerk and showed her a message from his cell phone. The written message stated multiple times, “Give me your money; I want your money.” 
 
After being told that there was no cash at the front desk, Joseph, who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with GAP written across the chest, walked out of the hotel. He was then observed entering a bluish-green late 1990’s model Honda Civic hatchback and fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Joseph is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree (Attempt). He will be arraigned on Friday, April 13, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
