Drunk Driver Charged with Assault, DWI, Reckless Driving After Hempstead Crash, Cops Say

Hempstead, NY - April 10, 2018 - The Nassau County Police Department reports a DWI arrest by Hempstead Police on Sunday, April 08, 2018 at 3:53am in Hempstead.
 
According to Police, defendant Brandon G. Wagner, 25, of Uniondale was operating his 2017 Ford Fusion color red, eastbound on Peninsula Boulevard when he struck a vehicle at the corner of Peninsula Boulevard and S. Franklin Street at 3:11am. The second vehicle, a 2017 Hyundai four door sedan driven by the male victim, 53, was traveling southbound on S. Franklin Street when he was struck. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital. The investigation is on-going.
 
Defendant Brandon G. Wagner is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree, DWI, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangerment. He was arraigned on Monday, April 9, 2017 in First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
