Legislator Lindsay Names 8th District Woman of Distinction

Sayville, NY - April 1, 2015 - Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III recently presented Sayville Rotary Club President, Alina Rossi, with a proclamation honoring her as the 2015 Suffolk County Woman of Distinction for the 8th District.  In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Suffolk County Legislature and the Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Commission recognizes and acknowledges women in our society by honoring a Woman of Distinction every year in each legislative district.
 
Born in Romania, Alina Rossi came to the United States in the late 1980’s and has since shown a profound commitment to the Sayville community. In addition to working side by side with her husband, creating and developing a successful Web Design and Internet Service Company, Alina is also the Owner and Operator of Sayville.com, a useful communication tool for all residents, local businesses and visitors alike.
 
“Alina is an exceptional leader and role model for all Suffolk County residents,” said Lindsay III. “Her dedication to our community is truly exemplary.”
 
In addition to serving as an active board member of the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce, the Sayville Chamber Marketing Committee and the Common Ground of Sayville, Alina has also dedicated her time and effort to the Greater Sayville Food Pantry, the Sayville Historical Society, the Women Sharing Arts Program, the Pilot Club of Sayville, the Sayville Village Improvement Society, the PTA, the American Legion Smith-Weaver Post #651 as well as the Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA).
 
Alina has truly gone above and beyond to promote community involvement and consistently demonstrates an outstanding commitment to her endeavors. As the Rotary Club of Sayville’s President, Alina has gone above and beyond to uphold and represent their motto “Service Above Self.”
