Cat Found Hung from Suffolk County Shed; SPCA Offers $1,000 Reward For Info Leading to Suspect

Suffolk County, NY - April 5, 2018 - On March 29, 2018 the Suffolk County SPCA was contacted by Suffolk County Police Department who had been contacted by a resident of the area regarding the discovery of the remains of a female cat found hanging from a shed on Michigan Avenue in the Bay Shore/Brentwood area. The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this blatant act of animal cruelty.
An examination by a veterinarian will be performed to determine the cause of death of the cat.
We can use the public's help. The Suffolk County SPCA is highly motivated to find those who are responsible for this heinous act. The investigation continues as we follow up leads and conduct interviews. We urge anyone with information to contact the Suffolk County SPCA so that we are able to bring the individual(s) responsible for this blatant act of animal cruelty to swift justice.
