Dix Hills Woman Seriously Injured When Struck by Own Vehicle

Dix Hills, NY - March 5th, 2016 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash during which a woman was seriously injured when she was struck by her own vehicle in Dix Hills this afternoon.

Karen Breden was found lying in the street by a passing motorist on Magnolia Lane, near the corner of Wolf Hill Road, at approximately 2:35 p.m.

It appears that after parking and exiting her 2002 Chrysler minivan in her driveway, Breden was struck by the unoccupied vehicle as it rolled down the driveway, which is on an incline.

Breden, 54, was transported to Huntington Hospital by Dix Hills Fire Department Rescue where she was admitted in serious condition.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
