Comewsogue, NY - March 5th, 2016 - Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn and Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright celebrated Anabel Clark and her Clarkettes’ fiftieth season during a ceremony held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Comewsogue High School in Port Jefferson Station.
Anabel, a self-taught baton twirler, began teaching in the backyard of her childhood home before officially launching the Clarkettes in 1966.
From those humble beginnings, the Clarkettes have earned regional, national and international championships and acclaim over the past half century.
