Elmont Man Charged After Running Over NCPD Officer's Foot with Stolen BMW, Crashing into House

Elmont, NY - April 3, 2018 - The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of an Elmont man for an incident that began on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 5:25 a.m. in Elmont.
 
According to Detectives, Iuemhetep White, 21, was involved in an auto accident while operating a white BMW on Wellington Road and fled the scene. Responding officers observed White and his vehicle a short distance away. After ignoring their commands to exit the vehicle, he drove off running over the foot of one of the officers. As a result of White’s actions the officer suffered contusions and swelling to his foot and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
 
Approximately ten minutes later officers responded to a 911 assignment for a white BMW that crashed into a house on Ludlum Avenue. The vehicle was unoccupied and defendant White fled the scene on foot.
 
At 7:07 p.m. a 911 call was generated for a stolen car report regarding the white BMW. A subsequent investigation and information received led officers to White’s residence where he was placed under arrest at 7:47 p.m. without further incident.
 
The defendant, Iuemhetep White, is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree, Leaving The Scene of a Personal Injury Incident Without Reporting, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree, Fail To Obey a Police Officer, two (2) counts of Leaving The Scene of An Incident Without Reporting and Unlicensed Operator. He is being arraigned on Sunday, April 1, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
