Merrick Man Arrested for Stealing over $17k from Local Senior's Bank Account

Merrick, NY - April 2nd, 2015 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Merrick man on Wednesday, April 01, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in Merrick for Grand Larceny.
 
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, the defendant Matthew B. Leone, 32 of Alfred Road obtained the debit card of a male acquaintance 68 years of age, where upon he made numerous unauthorized withdrawals between January and March 2015.  
 
The loss was in excess of seventeen thousand dollars ($17,000.00). After a subsequent investigation the detectives placed the defendant under arrest without incident on Wednesday, April 01, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at his residence.
 
Leone is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
