Update: Rocky Point Bank Robber Arrested

Update - April 4, 2014 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a Rocky Point man for the robbery of Capital One Bank, located on Route 25A in Rocky Point, on April 2. Pattern Crime Unit detectives charged Christopher O’Donnell, 38, with Robbery 2nd Degree. He is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on April 5.

Original Release - Rocky Point, NY - April 2, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning at a Capital One Bank in Rocky Point.

A man entered the bank, located at 366 Route 25A, approached a teller at 9:35 a.m. and demanded cash. The teller complied with the demand and gave the robber cash from the drawer. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The man is described as white, approximately 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall, between 25 and 30 years old with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans and a flannel shirt over a gray hooded-sweatshirt.
