Blydenburgh Dog Park: Smithtown

Blydenburgh is a perfect dog park, the one catch is that, like most dog runs on Long Island you do need a Green Pass on weekends and holidays, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Blydenburgh has more than 600 acres, with two acres of a fenced-in space where pups can play off their leashes, and miles of trails for adventuring.

Robinson Duck Farm Dog Park: Brookhaven

This large, 2.6-acre dog park is located on the former Robinson Duck Farm in Brookhaven Hamlet. The dog park is divided into small dog (25 lbs. and under) and large dog areas and is surrounded by wood and woven wire “livestock fencing,” designed to fit in with the natural environment. There are gated entries into each side of the dog park for easy access.

Valley Stream Dog Run; Valley Stream

Located behind Village Hall, the Valley Stream Dog Run has lots of amenities. It is divided into large dog and small dog areas (dogs up to 30 lbs) and offers benches, agility equipment, poop bag dispensers, shade shelters, water fountains, first aid kits and a hand sanitizer station. The ground surface is various colors of artificial turf for a little extra cushion for your pup.

Massapequa Dog Park: Massapequa

Fully equipped with drinking fountains and lots of shade, this dog park is a great option for local residents and their best friends.

Eisenhower Dog Park: Westbury

The dog run at the edge of Eisenhower Park in Westbury is centrally located for Nassau residents, in one of the county’s biggest and busiest parks, your pup will be sure to enjoy all of its open land for playing fetching, running and exploring. Two separate areas are designated for small and large dogs.

Christopher Morley Dog Park: Roslyn

A great option near the North Shore of Nassau County, the Christopher Morley Dog park is open year round and set on a total of 98 acres. (And is named after prominent 20th-century Long Island editor and writer, Christopher Morley!) Dogs are also allowed on all nature trails as long as they are leashed.

Nickerson Beach Dog Run: Lido Beach

A combination of park and beach, but perfect for your dog to enjoy a day in the sun! You can’t access the beach directly, but you will get the same beautiful views and enjoy the salty ocean breeze.

Robert Moses State Park: Babylon

For a good workout on the beach, hike the two miles to and from the Fire Island Lighthouse if you park in Robert Moses Field 5. The bayside of the island permits dogs, so you’ll get an excellent view across the bay on a beautiful summer day.

Gardiner County Park: Bayshore

A great option for beachgoers, the accessible parking and picnic area with a doggie water fountain leads to a 1.3-mile trail loop before you hit the beach, perfect to get in some good exercise before relaxing in the sun and sand.

Napeague Harbor: East Hampton

It’s hard to find places on the ocean that allow dogs, but west of Hither Hills on the South Fork is Napeague, which looks out on Napeague Harbor and Napeague Bay. Here your dog can swim in the water and explore the dunes. Pro Tip: You’ll have to access the beach and trails from Montauk Highway.
