The Village Lanterne: Lindenhurst

The Village Lanterne in Lindenhurst boasts a newly renovated beer garden with lush greenery and plenty of tables and chairs for eating and drinking. On the perfect spring day, let the red tent or black-and-yellow umbrellas shade you as you enjoy a pint of delicious beer made right in-house. We love the  Pilsner for easy sipping. Light in body and color with a bit of hop bitterness courtesy of the German and Czech hops, it pairs just right with all of their menu items like their Black Forest Lager Fondue (a blend of cheeses melted together with their Amber lager served with homemade pretzels) to their signature Plowman’s Platter (grilled veal bratwurst, knockwurst, and pork bratwurst braised in their own lager served with sauerkraut and German potato salad).

 

Croxley’s Ale House and Biergarten: Smithtown 

Conveniently located right by the town train station, Croxley’s Ale House & Biergarten adds a bit of throwback charm to this Smithtown staple. Wash down your favorite German eats like jumbo Bavarian pretzels and knackwurst (you can’t go wrong with their famous wings, which come in buffalo or Southern fried boneless) with your choice of more than 80 beers. Local selections include Blue Point Blueberry Ale, Great South Bay Blood Orange Pale Ale and Montauk Wave Chaser, to name a few. 

 

Plattduetsche Park: Franklin Square 

Plattduetsche Park is more than a beer garden, the restaurant offers a true taste of Germany. Step into the huge, tree-lined space and escape the work week hustle and bustle with live music, celebrations known as volkfests, wooden picnic tables large enough to fit all of of your friends and course, delicious craft beer. Delicious munchies like giant pretzels to German classics like bratwurst and schnitzel are also offered. 

 

Mary Carroll’s: Babylon 

Most beer gardens boast an authentic German vibe, but it’s always St. Patrick’s Day at Mary Carroll’s located right in Babylon Village. When the weather starts to just about get warm, stroll through the pub, step outside and pull up a stool at a high-top, umbrella-covered table that’s in the shape of a Guinness barrel. Black gates with the the notable Guinness logo surround the brick patio. Beer, pub eats and a good time are always to be had at Mary Carroll’s.
