Brooklyn Tractor Trailer Driver Arrested for DWI in Bohemia

Bohemia, NY - March 27th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police arrested the operator of an 18-wheeler tractor trailer for driving while intoxicated in Bohemia early this morning.

Suffolk County Highway Patrol Officers Jonathan Abrams, Richard Gandolfo and Robert Mudzinski observed a tractor trailer that was pulled over to the right shoulder on eastbound Sunrise Highway, with the engine running and the driver asleep at the wheel, at 2:35 a.m. Henadz Nazarchuk, 35, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

The tractor trailer, owned by Crown Petroleum Transportation of Lawrence, was a gasoline tanker with fuel on board. The vehicle was impounded for evidence of hazardous material and also for a weight check.

Nazarchuk is being held at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
