SCPD arrested Lee Newman of Farmingville, 26, for DWI after he critically injured a bicyclist.

Farmingville, NY - March 26, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a Farmingville man for driving while intoxicated after a crash that critically injured a bicyclist in Farmingville on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
 
Lee Newman, 26, was driving a 2009 Ford pickup truck southbound on North Ocean Avenue when his vehicle struck a man who was riding his bicycle westbound on Horseblock Road at approximately 5:15 a.m.
 
Armando Gonzalez, 67, of Medford was transported by Farmingville Rescue to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
 
Newman was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. His vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Newman is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 25.
