6 Year Old Girl Hit Crossing Road in Woodmere

Woodmere, NY - March 24th, 2016 - Fourth Squad detectives report the details of a serious auto accident that occurred on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1:45 pm in Woodmere.

According to detectives, while traveling southbound on Barnard Avenue in her 2015 Infiniti, the 39 year old driver was involved in a side swipe collision with a six year old female pedestrian who attempted to cross Barnard Avenue near Poe Street in an effort to return home.

As a result of the collision the child suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Brake and safety checks were performed at the scene on the vehicle and the accident has been deemed to be a non-criminal event.
