Advisory Message: Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

Lake Grove, NY - March 24, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Lake Grove last night.
 
Harold Edelman, of Medford, was walking southbound across Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Cube that was traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway at 11:15 p.m.
 
Edelman, 70, suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, Julie Chung, 38, of Oakland Gardens, NY, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
 
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with any information about this crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452. All calls will be kept confidential.
