SCPD Crime Stoppers: Man Wanted for Making Hotel Reservation with Fake Credit Card

Melville, NY - March 24th, 2014 -  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used a fake credit card number to reserve a hotel room and pay for services at a hotel in Melville.

An unknown person made a reservation online to stay in a suite at the Melville Marriott Hotel, located at 1350 Walt Whitman Road, using a false credit card number and possibly a fake name. The man checked in at the hotel on February 19, 2014, and charged numerous items to his room using the same false credit card information. The hotel manager became suspicious on February 21, 2014, and when she attempted to speak to the man, the suspect fled.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
