SCPD: Man Attempts to Use Stolen Credit Card to Make Purchases at Riverhead Business

Riverhead, NY - March 23, 2018 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Town Police detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used another person’s credit card to make an online purchase.
 
A man entered Schwing Electrical, located at 1328 East Main St., on February 2 and told employees that an online order he made had been delivered to the location. Employees were suspicious of the man’s story and did not release any packages to the man, who left the store without incident.
 
The man had used a stolen credit card number to purchase $10,400 worth of clothing from Barneys New York.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
