SCPD are seeking a suspect in an attempted robbery that occurred in Melville.

Melville, NY - March 22, 2018 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who is wanted for questioning regarding an attempted robbery that occurred in Melville last year.
 
A woman was walking on Walt Whitman Road, near Arlington Street, on May 26, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m. when she was thrown to the ground as a man tried to grab her pocketbook which was secured across her chest.
 
The man fled in a light-blue late-model BMW with a sun roof and Illinois plates. There were at least two other men in the vehicle. The men are described as white or Hispanic.
 
The man pictured above is wanted for questioning in connection to this attempted robbery. He is described as a male in his 20s with short dark hair.
