NY State Police Investigating Fatal Automobile Accident on Wantagh Parkway

Hempstead, NY - March 22, 2018 - The New York State Police are investigating a one-car fatal collision which occurred on March 21, 2018, at approximately 10:02 a.m.  
 
The collision occurred on the southbound Wantagh State Parkway, north of exit W4, in Hempstead. Preliminary investigation revealed that the collision occurred when a 2012 Nissan Van left the roadway and struck a concrete foundation of a metal sign.  
 
The passenger, Xiu Rong Yong, 51 years old, of Flushing, was pronounced deceased at the Nassau University Medical Center. Another passenger, Ning Zhao, 37 years old, of Flushing, received a serious injuries. Additional passengers Zehua Lin, 39 years old, and Yin Hua Guo, 40 years old, both of Flushing, suffered minor injuries. The driver, Xiao Ping Lu, 37 years old, of Flushing, suffered minor injuries.
