Tyler Hubby, the director of Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present, will be Tom Needham’s special guest this Thursday at 6 P.M. on the Sounds of Film on WUSB.
Stony Brook, NY - March 22, 2017 - The director of Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present, Tyler Hubby, will be Tom Needham’s special guest this Thursday on WUSB’s the Sounds of Film. He will be discussing the life and work of American artist, Tony Conrad.
Tony Conrad is an avant garde multi-media artist who has influenced a variety artists ranging from the Velvet Underground to the Yes Men. Through the years, he has experimented with various art forms including film, music, video, and television. He collaborated with a number of different musicians like John Cale and Faust, and was a member of the influential music collective, Theatre of Eternal Music, otherwise known as the Dream Syndicate. In addition, Tony was a renowned filmmaker who is remembered for his groundbreaking film, The Flicker.
Director Tyler Hubby is the acclaimed editor of The Devil and Daniel Johnston and The Great Invisible. His film, Tony Conrad: Completely in the Present is on tour of some the world’s most esteemed museums and festivals including Washington D.C.’s Gallery of Art and the Rotterdam Film Festival.
