Police Searching for Machete-Wielding Man Who Robbed Bethpage Ice Cream Shop

Bethpage, NY - March 22, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 9:55 p.m. in Bethpage.
 
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male subject (unknown race) entered the Carvel located at 4246 Hicksville Road, displayed a machete, went behind counter and demanded cash from the 19 year old female victim.  
 
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of US currency, the subject left the store and fled south towards Iris Place and was last seen entering a silver or tan four door sedan that headed south on Hicksville Road.  No injuries were reported.
 
The subject is described as 5’7”- 5’10” tall, wearing a black hooded jacket, mask and gloves.
