Victim in New Hyde Park Shooting Drives Self to Hospital; Police Currently Seeking Suspect

New Hyde Park, NY - March 22, 2019 - Third Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 7:15 pm in North New Hyde Park.
 
According to detectives, while traveling home eastbound on Executive Drive, near Old Courthouse Road, the 62 year old male driver was cut off by a dark colored sedan and then forced to stop at the side of the road. A male passenger (no further description) from that vehicle then exited, approached the victim and fired multiple gunshots into his car striking him twice. The victim then quickly drove away from the threat and took himself to a nearby hospital where he was admitted for two gunshot wounds; one to his upper arm and another to his hand.
 
Detectives believe this was a targeted occurrence and continue to investigate the motive for the shooting. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
