Assemblyman Garbarino Urges Students To Apply For $3,000 Scholarships

Long Island, NY - March 19, 2018 - Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino (R,C,I,Ref-Sayville), a member of the New York Conference of Italian-American Legislators, announces the availability of four scholarships to deserving students. Two of the available scholarships are academic and two are for athletic achievements, with each scholarship providing $3,000 per recipient.
 
“I am proud to help promote the New York State Conference of Italian-American Legislator’s scholarships every year. I have no doubt that students applying to the scholarship are passionate about  their future education and helping to make the future of our state and communities brighter,” said Garbarino, who also sits on the Assembly Committee on Higher Education. “The more opportunities our children are afforded the better it is for us all.”
 
Applicants will be judged based upon grade point average (85 or above), interest in pursuing a higher education, involvement in the local community, as well as individual financial need. Applicants do not need to be Italian-American to apply.
