SCPD: Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Lindenhurst Crash

Lindenhurst, NY - March 17, 2016 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a woman in Lindenhurst this morning.
 
A 17-year-old Lindenhurst female was driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty eastbound on 49th Street, attempting to cross Straight Path, when her vehicle collided with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound on Straight Path at 7:12 a.m.
 
The driver of the Grand Cherokee, AlyssaMarie Gerbasio, 23, of West Babylon, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver of the Liberty was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for evaluation and released.
