Assemblyman Montesano: We Need to Help Improve Transportation Network Companies Outside of NYC

Written by Long Island News & PR  |  15. March 2018

Long Island, NY - March 15, 2018 - Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,Ref-Glen Head)  is pleased to announce his support for bill A.9046, which will redirect the 4 percent assessment fee forced upon transportation network companies (TNCs) outside NYC, and deposited into the General Fund back to local transit operations.

“Whether it be private or public, transportation is a key to daily life,” said Montesano. “While not everyone uses mass transit, there is a large number who do, and they deserve a strong system which runs like a well-oiled machine. By redirecting the 4 percent assessment fee imposed upon transportation network companies that operate outside of NYC and giving that revenue back to local transit operations, we are helping strengthen and improve the systems which need all the help they can get.”
